Physio Pre and Post Op Rehab- ACL
I tore my ACL and meniscus in September last year and my surgeon put me in touch with Sevda. I had a few prehab sessions before my operation in January and have also done extensive rehab with her post-op. Sevda is incredibly approachable and knowledgeable about sports injuries and how best to recover from them. She is also an amazing motivator; I have had a few low moments in my recovery and she has always been there to pick me back up. I'm now 7 months post-op (full ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair) and my knee feels great - I'm hoping to return to full contact sport soon and I've booked a ski holiday for next year which I'm feeling really confident about. There's no way I'd be feeling like this without Sevda - no mountain is too tall for her to climb and she is so generous with her time and advice. She is also very kind and funny and I like how we can chat about almost anything during our sessions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone suffering with a debilitating sports injury... she will get you back on your feet and you'll have loads of fun along the way! |

(Post Op Avulsion fracture of ACL attachment and Knee Arthrofibrosis)
I have been lucky to be treated by lots of excellent physiotherapists in London in my time. After a recent injury I was referred to Sevda Onder at Warrior Sports Rehabilitation. Sevda is by far the best physiotherapist I have ever encountered and I understand why my consultant refers his patients to her (and others in the Warrior team). Not only is Sevda incredibly efficient, competent and knowledgeable she is also very kind and caring. She goes well beyond the extra mile for her patients. I cannot recommend her enough. |

Lee Physiotherapy (OA knee)
A stiff weak knee giving discomfort - my ongoing knee problem had been causing problems for a long time. Having sought the advice of my GP, his recommendation was to see a physiotherapist. To say I wasn’t best pleased was an understatement. I was convinced I needed an MRI scan to see what the problem was but the medical advice was that a physio had to make that assessment. With deep seated frustration and annoyance I reluctantly agreed to a hospital outpatient appointment.' 'My first meeting Sevda did not start off well as my mind was made up of the need for an MRI scan. However, within 5 minutes she completely disarmed my thinking and proceeded to highlight precisely the issues with my knee. Just 15 minutes later after short series of muscular exercises, and I was pleasantly surprised as there were clear signs of responsive improvement. Her remarkable knowledge of knee issues and the remedial work required is first class. It is allied with an effervescent personality and a warm engaging professional manner. I continue to work with Sevda on a private basis as my knee is getting stronger and deserves the best professional advice |

Footballer ACL- physio/ rehab/ coaching
Genuinely a fantastic experience, I had gotten in touch with Sevda, about 1 year into an ACL tear, as an aspiring footballer who had been released due to the injury I was at an emotional and physical low.however after 2 sessions with Sevda that began to change, her mix of expert knowledge and care to me as an individual as well as a patient not only helped with my confidence in being able to get back to football, but to really feel myself again. She was patient in coming up with a rehabilitation plan with me and constantly made sure I was sent and progressing at a good rate, the exercises were adjusted to each level I was at during the recovery process and she always ensured I wasn’t over pushing myself. I am now 23 months post ACL tear and now feel better than ever and I’m very close to the level of play I was at post injury. Overall as long as you work hard, follow your plan and trust in Sevda you will achieve your desired result. An excellent physiotherapist, and a great person. Student mentoring / feedback
Sevda demonstrated respect for my aspiration and commitment as a student physiotherapist by giving me the opportunity to assist her and to have hands on experience in palpating the patient’s patella, knee joint line and to perform soft tissue mobilisation technique. |

Post Op ACL Rehab
Issue: Rehabilitation on my left knee after a surgery for “clean and wash up” on my cartilage (meniscal)-3rd on the same knee (after ACL and meniscal repair in the previous 5 years). Duration: 3 months after surgery Overall, Sevda has been very helpful and willing to make the utmost effort at every session to explain me the rehabilitation exercises for my knee recovery and make me give the most of my energy to complete the exercises properly and maintain the required level of concentration during the sessions. She has been a perfectionist in a good way and has insisted in mine executing all exercises with 100% accuracy. In addition, she has used pictures of mine while working on the exercises as a tool of explaining to me the benefit of each exercise and enabling me to practice on my own on the right direction during my free time. She has provided me with precise feedback and I have managed to improve at a fast pace session by session; hence in the end I have recovered ahead of my target date and have now managed to come back to doing all sports I enjoy (basketball, table tennis, football, long runs), without having any issues, only after a 3 month rehabilitation period post my knee surgery. I would like to thank both Sevda and Andre for helping me to achieve such good results. |

Personal training
Sevda is a driven, intuitive trainer. She is focussed on results but also highly emotionally intuitive to the needs of her clients. Sevda has physically driven me to feel powerful and strong, able to defend myself on becoming a single mum. She’s taught me to box with precision and got fuelled energy I didn’t know I had. Then at other times we’ve focussed on dynamic yoga flows or body weight conditioning. It is also hugely helpful that Sevda not only loves health and fitness herself but is a fully qualified Physio so, post any injury you also know you are safe. I’m happy to chat one on one to anyone considering using Sevda |

Scoliosis, Post Op Hip Rehab, Triathlon training
As a GB Age Group Triathlete, staying on top of any muscle imbalances is very important for performance. I suffered some inevitable muscle damage after a hip arthroscopy for a torn labrum and cam and pincer impingement in Dec 2014. My initial recovery was good, but then some issues started to creep in around 9 months post op. With help from Sevda, I now have a structured plan for rehabilitation. Sevda carefully analysed my imbalances and designed a highly tailored programme for my needs. She is able to adapt the programme quickly to any improvement you make or areas where you are having more difficult. My TFL and glute meds, coupled with a slight scoliosis are causing me imbalance on the left and after 4 weeks of starting the programme, I could feel a definite difference and the burning and discomfort I was often feeling in my hip has subsided. My hip is getting a lot stronger as a result. The way she puts a visual reminder together for you is very helpful, you often walk away feeling comforted that the visual aid is there to refer to!! Sevda is very dedicated to what she does and intensely focussed, ensuring a quality outcome for you – of course if you invest in your side of the deal to do the exercises!! |

Physiotherapy
I was suffering from gluteal muscle pain when I was referred by my GP to Sevda. The pain was always present on exercising (I run, do combat and do weight training). It was a major issue for me as my ability to exercise is strongly linked to my mental health and control of pre-diabetes. I had been having physio with another of Sevda’s colleagues but due to retirement, I found myself in Sevda’s capable hands. Over the four months that I was in her care, I was given wide ranging exercises which were always patiently and thoroughly explained to me. They were all designed to challenge me and to address the issue but they have had an additional benefit in changing some of fundamental issues eg with my running style/gait and balance. Sevda is always positive, energetic and enthusiastic which rubbed off on me as I occasionally came along to my session a bit down about what I had been able to achieve. I certainly didn’t ever leave a session in the same frame of mind due to her passion and energy for setting me on the road to recovery. She also took the time to help me work through my mood and instilled healthy strategies to help me manage my mental health. It is, of course, up to the individual being treated to go away from the sessions and put in place what you have been asked to do. I found this very easy (which I haven’t always before…..) I genuinely think that Sevda is so good at what she does which has instilled confidence in me to complete what she asks me to do. I would highly recommend Sevda to anyone who is; stuck, in pain or what’s to improve their function. |

Personal training/ Sports performance / Rehab
I have been working with Sevda for over a year now. I was referred to Sevda for corrective rehabilitation for a twisted ankle which occurred whilst playing badminton. During these sessions it transpired that we had developed a good rapport, so we started off with several initial personal training sessions. I am now completing my second block of 25-session. My initial aim was to get fitter and leaner with a focus on the upper and lower body strength. Around the same time I started a cycling training so we gradually adjusted my personal training sessions to focus on becoming more stable on the bike and improving my ride times. Prior to meeting Sevda I was in the G4 group (rides are typically 60-70km, average speed 20-21km/h). Over the months I have witnessed a significant improvement in my cycling fitness and strength due which I believe was a result of what we had focused on in the gym. In less than 12 months I moved from the slowest group in my cycling club to the fastest group which I even got an award (attached in the above picture) for as the most improved cyclist in 12 months. I am now in a mixed G1/G2 group (120km, 27-29km/h), I am now leading rides about twice a month (leading means pacing, navigation and keep the group together). I am usually quite economical with praise but I have been enjoying my gym session with Sevda because (1) they made stronger, fitter and leaner, (2) they helped me to be a much better cyclist, (3) we always have lots of fun and we laugh a lot, and I get to teach my children what I have learnt (animal flow 😁) (4) because Sevda takes quite a holistic approach which includes not just the exercise prescription but also nutritional/diet advice, recovery. She has also taught me to learn to strike a balance with work, rest, play and most importantly my family. One expects his/her personal coach to be tough and uncompromising ("there is a plan, let's stick to the plan") but Sevda has been also very sensible about being able to recognise when I had "down" days and adjusted the session accordingly. I remember a specific session where we focused on breathing, smiling, laughing, play (balloons 😁) and animal/yoga type flow. We are now doing a block of sessions focusing on improving my time trials as I hope to compete at some point this year. Every session is different and every session is fun, which is essential for me as my job can often be highly stressful at times. I walk away from every session feeling accomplished, energised there is never a dull moment, Sevda is a great coach, personal trainer and always look forward to our sessions. |

Group exercise /Iron man training advice
I was a client of Sevda's in a group class situation and worked with her weekly over the course of about 18 months. Sevda was brilliant at what she does and excellent at reading the abilities of a class, something, in my many years of experience, not all class leaders have as a skill. We worked really hard on good solid physical strengthening. Something that Sevda really helped me with was understanding my needs and goals. She was a great person to listen to and she also listened very intently and offered help and guidance in the form of podcasts recommendations, links to blogs and information to help me with my Ironman training. All of this she offered without any thought of cost - her generosity with information was exceptional. I still follow Sevda's progress via social media and I'm delighted to see that others are benefiting from the amazing talents that she possess. I would be the first to recommend Sevda for any physical rehabilitation, strengthening, physical motivation and general physical confidence. She really is exceptional and I am excited to see her progression in this field. |

Rehab/ Personal Training
“I came to see Sevda a year ago following a back injury which had put me out of action for about 3 months. As a regular exerciser, this experience had been extremely frustrating and I was keen to get fit again but safely, without aggravating the injury as I was aware that I had brought it on myself to a certain extent by attempting exercises which I did not have the core strength to support. From the very first session two things about Sevda impressed me hugely: Firstly, her extensive knowledge of anatomy and muscle function which put me totally at my ease. I felt totally safe and knew that I could relax in the knowledge that she would not suggest any exercise that would put my back at risk. Secondly, Sevda is a hard taskmaster with very high standards and, uncomfortable as it was for me to admit, I needed this: Although I had no problem committing to exercise, I was unaccustomed to really exerting myself or pushing myself to my limits. Although I struggled for a while to accept that Sevda’s ambitions for me (in terms of the amount weight I could lift/push/pull) were achievable, once I accepted that they were achievable provided I was willing to put the effort in, I found the fact that she always aims high and will always push me to the outer limit of my comfort zone and beyond very motivating indeed. I have been very grateful to Sevda for her flexibility, both in terms of training me at home rather than at the gym and also being willing to change a planned workout in response to energy levels/ muscle soreness etc. Sevda is endlessly inventive, coming up with fun and varied workouts using limited home gym equipment. Sevda has also introduced me to boxing which has proven to be a fantastic way to achieve a great CV workout at home without any CV machines. Sevda is a great boxing coach, patient and knowledgeable and able to teach technique to a total beginner. Boxing is now a mainstay of my sessions: I really enjoy the CV element and the fact that so many muscle groups are engaged at once. I always look forward to my sessions and I know that Sevda will provide the drive that I sometimes lack to really go for it.” |

Personal Training/Sports Performance/Rehab:
I started training with Sevda at LA Fitness where she was teaching spin class. Her immense energy was so motivating that even if you wanted to have just "an easy workout" she managed to get the best out of you. I personally never believed in Personal Training but liked her style as well as her ideas for my training, so I was happy to give it a try, and did not regret it! My initial training goal was to improve all disciplines of triathlon as well as building general strength and mobility. And believe me, after every training session I could really feel the muscle groups I had worked. Sevda also offered nutrition advice where I sometime wished I would have not told her what I had for dinner, but I got some very good tips, and also a few disgusting stories to keep me away from the ice cream and cookies. After I got my knee injury and was no longer able to pursue Tri's any more Sevda became a really good friend offering me lots of advice how I can adapt to my new situation. We did lots of PT sessions, where she came to my home and woke me up at 6 am at least 2x a week. Sevdas knowledge in rehab and collaborations with other physiotherapists post my 2 knee surgeries was crucial to building my confidence, balance, range and my strength and fitness (it also helped that she was studying to be a physio herself). I have been training with Sevda since 2012 and Right now she is in touch with me regularly via whatsapp & emails to support me (as I had unfortunately relocated back to Germany) getting in shape for my wedding this September 2014. It's not as nice as her waking me at 6am for my session, but it works. I would highly recommend Sevda to anyone that is looking for a caring motivated knowledgeable trainer. |

Personal Training:
I went to one of Sevda’s spinning classes back in 2013 and she absolutely inspired me. At the end of her session I asked her if she was a personal trainer and since then I haven’t let her go! My biggest problem was my posture, I have very bad issues with my bowels, posture and really back pain. Sevda taught me a lot about nutrition for health and also helped me to strengthen and lengthen those muscles. My body and perception of myself has now changed dramatically. I have increased my muscle mass and I have lost a great amount of body fat, which has made me a really happy girl especially because I had that backless wedding dress I had to fit into!!! I like her sessions because you never expect what she has on the agenda for you, always a great (and painful) surprise and she knows how to push you hard. I always complain but I still have to do all the exercises – with Sevda there are no excuses. I totally recommend her to anyone looking for a life change, not just fitness. She is definitely the BEST PERSONAL TRAINER I HAVE EVER HAD....! |

Personal training /Rehab
Sevda put together a tailored exercise regime for me and I trained with her for over a year. She was great. She not only helped get me fit, but helped me with my motivation. She made training fun! Ultimately I got exactly what I needed, which was a kickstart to looking after myself better and maintaining it into the future. |

Tough Mudder Coaching
"Well, where do you start, first don't let the smiling happy bubbling personality fool you. Granted if you do as you’re told (and you will be told and not asked) you will achieve the goal you are aiming for. However, as always, this comes at a price…and you will pay, you will certainly pay…and I’m not talking money here. My goal was the Tough Mudder Challenge. A 12 mile obstacle course designed by Ex-SAS soldiers. An agreement in the bar with a friend had got me into it with my bold words of ‘I could do anything if I put my mind to it’ ringing in my head the following day. I had 7 weeks to train for the event, my gym activity over the last year could be counted on my fingers and my diet was heavily balanced towards eat what I like, when I like. The odd glass of wine and a beer in the sun were seen as necessary parts of the weekend. In 7 weeks Sevda took me from my current regime to comfortably completing the challenge I had set myself. From the diet plan she set me, which I stuck to rigorously (well, pretty much) to the exercises she set, I stuck to the mindset of ‘do as you are told and you will get to where you need to be’. Yes, along the way I did think there were times when she was trying to kill me, and yes it did quickly become apparent that the wine and beer was no longer going to be my friend during this (that was in training session one where after 15mins and had to drink two bottles of lucazade and have a sit down). You will be pushed and pushed some more – but strangely this is not in a bad way. Sevda has this likability that makes you push yourself as you don’t want to let her down. You may not see it when she’s making you do ‘just one more minute’ on the rower, but you will push on and do it anyway. Sevda looked at my week and set a diet plan that suited an office based lifestyle (I needed to put weight on not take it off). She looked at the time I had available and set an exercise schedule that worked with this. Her input played a massive part in me achieving my goal. However, you will only get out what you put in, a half hearted effort will give half hearted results. Would I train with Sevda her again - most defiantly! Did I enjoy it – strangely yes, achievements were clear from the start. Would I recommend her – without a doubt, without her I wouldn’t have got myself over the line. A word of warning though, counting isn’t her strong point, 5 laps often ends up being 7 and 10 reps could be anything between 12 and 15. I’d avoid mentioning this to her though or you’ll end up back on that rower for another 5 minutes…which is actually 6 to 7. …..and have I now slipped back into my old ways…surprisingly not – I run 4 miles three times a week at lunch time and hit the gym at least twice. The diet and the wine/beer is probably back to where it was but hey, why not, the sun is shining and I can do anything if I put my mind to it!" |

Sports Performance, Conditioning (Fight training, Muay Thai, MMA)
Sevda Onder was my personal trainer, and played a crucial part of my development towards my new found career. I have been attending street fighting lessons religiously for years. I decided to take my skills to the ring, in hope of obtaining a serious reference before taking on a new career in teaching martial arts. In a street fight, a fight usually lasts than a minute. He who has better skills and durability simply wins. In a ring, we have gloves on, so that we can take more hits, and go the distance and if possible take the trophy. Knowing that a huge audience will be watching adds further pressure. Fitness becomes you’re most important attribute, and your mind has to be as cold as ice. I went into pro fighting with no experience, and with Sevda’s help, I even managed to get a title shot. Over a year of my life was dedicated to training and fighting in Muay Thai. For someone who has never been in the ring, even amateur bout would be intense and dangerous. At times of highs and lows, she was there for me; at times of exhaustion she brought more gas into me, and at times of weakness she gave me strength. I had never experienced so much emotion behind physical training, and I feel that she was the single most important factor behind my success. After months of blood and sweat, Sevda taught me many things about the mindset of the fighter, about what my body is really capable of, and about training efficiently to build confidence, stamina, durability, reflex and power. The results have spoken, and I can ask for no more. I have even knocked out one of my opponents in 24 seconds, one of the fastest recorded knockouts. My dream of starting my own club is now a reality! Sevda has become, and will forever be one of my dearest friends, and I wish her every bit of success she deserves. |
